RE: creating red hat 7.3 dvd

it doesn't work :(
I could boot from the dvd and it seemed to go though but after loading
radi drivers when it gives a message (after blue screen):
Running anaconda - please wait

it takes along time to finally throw out these errors:
traceback (innermost last):
File "/usr/bin/anaconda". line 63, in ?
import signal, traceback, string, isys, util, time
File "/usr/lib/anaconda/isys.py", line 18, in ?
import _isys
import Error:/lib/libcom_err.so.2:cannot read file data: Is a directory
install exited normally

As suggested I had copied the RPMS contents (of cd's needed) to that of
cd 1 and ran genhdlist on my cd dir

Is there any other way to create a single DVD for redhat 7.3 ? or can
you help me out on where i went wrong?( I had read some where that I
have to put all 3 disks number in .discinfo file..but it appears from
mails that red hat 7.3 doesn't support that)

Aln,
Thx for the reply. I tested the booting part, I can boot with DVD made
the way you told me (with boot option in mkisofs) but I havent testest
the full install yet ( I am not sure if it will ask me to put cd2, cd3).
Anyways what ever it is I will update the outcome.

thx again

IIRC, there is no use of .discinfo in RH7.x

well, I do not know about bootable dvd, but for a standard
CDROM here is what you should do:
- copy cd1 on your drive (let's say /zxc)
- copy cd2 and 3 RPMS folder content into /zxc/RedHat/RPMS
- run genhdlist on /zxc
- run mkisofs on /zxc
- burn
