Paul,

We do this all the time in our internal distro.  We rebuild ALL the
kernel RPMs from the SRPM.  This includes kernel, kernel-smp,
kernel-BOOT, etc.  We then use anaconda-runtime to rebuild all the
installation diskettes (bootnet.img, etc).  This way bootnet.img and the
main kernel RPM have perfectly matching drivers.

AFAIK, anaconda will not copy the driver from a driver diskette to
/lib/modules of an installed system.  The kernel RPM you are installing
needs to have the module.

Hope this makes sense.
