I haven't been following this thread too closely so forgive me if this has been suggested. Linux has a program called Audio Recorder. Perhaps with a hypen in your repo. (audio-recorder) Most of its features DON'T work for me but what does work is the basic record what you hear function. I would provide a link but every one I found is cluttered with ads. Better just to download it and read the manual. I've never had reason to try to do it. ... ... [snipped] ... ... [snipped] ... ... Thank you for responding to my query. Not because I want to monitor. Just want to hit the record button while listening to something worthwhile for me. PulseAudio is perfect for me, but in one of my laptops it doesn't work. So my illustrious Mailing List members in debian-users list suggested that I had better used alsa. I said why not?! So I began to look for options to learn alsa and its ways. But what would be those packages for my Debian system? Do they vary much from those in Debian? Thank you once more in anticipation. BTW, I have written to the Forum Admin to have my other accidental post deleted. Could you please help in this regard too? _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list Alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list Alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
