I prefer the ICE-chips, a good balance between sound quality, usability (supported right away) and budget. So a Delta1010 gives me suficient routing capability so I hear my sound, kids their audiobooks and the default annoyance is somewhere else. (Or while doing some audio work route/ patch monitor channels, different inputs and output as up to 8.1. I also use the digital inputs with a DI-box to convert electricity to light and back. For the headphones I prefer Presonus or ART as manufacturers. There's not much difference (for me) to SPL (e.g. Control Black) or Lehmann (Linear Pro Black). Nevertheless I spend more money on the headphones like AKG K240DF and preferrably studio quality. And regarding Gentoo: keep up the spirit, there are not many left. _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list Alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
