Since you have sound on headphone, maybe u can try with different kernel version? 4.10 ~ 4.14.

Here is a git from plbossart (who fix above bug), which is related to his quirks on rt serial sound cards. But he said it should be merged into 4.13. https://github.com/plbossart/sound.git

that I should try first? The tablet DMI-identifies it's made by Insyde,
and the code for the the RT5640 suggests they needed several quirks on
that (similar, bay trail) hardware.
