Many do these days, as they are designed for mobile phones. You may need a converter from TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve) to TRS (tip-ring-sleeve). Some manufacturers are not forthcoming with information about the wiring of their plugs, but it's usually reasonably easy to discover by measurement. There are, of course, several "standards". A search on the CTIA vs OMTP standards may prove informative. Worth checking before software. If the software differences are absolutely repeatable, then I defer to your results.
