Fwd: Chromebook Pixel 2013 woes still?

I have a Chromebook Pixel 2013 and I know there were problems early on
with supporting this device but my understanding was that they were
supposedly all ironed out. But I'm still seeing problems.

I have this in my /etc/modprobe.d:

And indeed that parameter shows up in the module parameters:

And it looks like the CA0132 is the first device:

But the symptoms I have are:

1) The microphone has never worked

2) In recent kernels (or possibly since I moved that parameter from
/etc/modules and it actually took effect) I sometimes get random noise
after resuming. Killing pulseaudio fixes that.

3) I get these log messages very frequently -- shouldn't firmware be
loaded once when the driver loads and then not again?
