Maya 44 USB+ and inputs

Hello, ALSA users.

I have a problem with the inputs of a Maya 44 USB soundcard, this
sound card is identical to maya-44 but in aluminium enclosure.

http://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44usb+/

The soundcard works fine in playback, but in recording has some
problems, specificly there is no way to control the volume of the
recording on inputs, resulting in low volume o distorted records.
To test I connect the output of stereo mixer to a pair of Maya inputs.
I select the appropiate input in Audacity and go to record, but the
volume of record (and waveform) is very low. I try raising the volume
in hardware mixer, but the volume raise only a little and sound become
distorted.

It seems to be input volume in ALSA is set fixed to 50% because if I
raise up the volume in hardware mixer, at some point sound is limited
in volume, waveform is not increase in amplitude and sound become
distorted but no more high. To give a idea, at maximun volume,
waveform grows to approximately 30% from the full volume.

Alsamixer, in playback section shows 3 controls, "speaker", "line" and "line1".
But, if I choose capture, it shows "This sound device does not have
any capture controls".
However, running in Windows, they have controls and work fine.

To be honest, some time ago on this list I do the same question, but,
after of a pair of responses I got not more answers.

At that time I had to solve the problem urgently and after waiting a
while, I had to fall to the unpleasant option of using the sound card
in Windows.

Now I want to see if I solve this problem definitely, maybe works for
someone else.
I have no trouble doing the tests needed, just need to guide me in the
right direction to help me solve the problem.

Thanks in advance.
Regards.
