sampling at 250 khz

Dear All,

I have a usb microphone that is capable of sampling at either 250 khz or
200 khz - I use it to record ultrasound.

I'm trying to hook the mic up to a raspberry pi. I have tried recording
from it using Pyaudio (python), Audacity and arecord. However, without
success. I always get an error message about the specified sample rate.
For example, with arecord I get a 'bat speed value 250000' error.

I have searched the internet high and low for a solution - but so far
without luck.

So, I guess the first question is whether alsa (the pi) has some
inherent maximum sample rate it can work with? If that is not the case,
would anybody know what I could try next?

Best,
Dieter
