The ALC887-VD chip has many I/O pins, but according to the information
set by the BIOS, only the two front channels are connected to anything.

Are you sure that that "SonicMaster" thingy isn't just software effects?
If yes, try playing with the hdajackretask tools from the alsa-tools
1.0.27 package.
