Thinkpad T510 and Conexant CX20585

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

   Hi,
I have a two year old Thinkpad T510 with a Conexant CX20585 sound chip
which has recently developed a habit of turning the speaker off at random.
The power state of node 0x1f changes from 0x00 to 0x33. Resetting it with
hda-verb or suspending to RAM ( closing/opening the lid ) "fixes" the
problem .

I know this topic has been discussed before on this list but I'm unsure
of whether it was ever resolved ( beyond running a script that resets the
state ) or wether it is really a hardware problem ( overheating ? )

It seems to happen at any volume setting and it seems to happen whether
the sound card is in use or not.

                                                        peter
