I don't know about Fedora 18, but there should by a configuration
somewhere where you can choose the default sound device.

(The "Generic" indicates that your drivers are older than your hardware,
but this doesn't seem to be a problem; it certainly doesn't affect the
sound card order.  You might want to update the kernel anyway.)
