Using CentOS release 6.3 (Final) - kernel 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.i686.
When I run alsaconf I get:
No supported PnP or PCI card found.
I have tried these options in the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire
options snd-hda-intel model=acer
I have tried both snd_hda_intel and snd-intel8x0 modules.
Here are some diagnostic commands with their output:
# aplay -l
aplay: device_list:256: no soundcards found...
# lspci -nn | grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller [8086:27d8] (rev 02)
I think this card is supported (http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Intel).
# lsmod | grep '^snd_'
snd_hda_intel 21438 0
snd_hda_codec 80874 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_hwdep 5282 1 snd_hda_codec
snd_seq 46405 0
snd_seq_device 5508 1 snd_seq
snd_pcm 69938 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 17822 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd_page_alloc 7042 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm
Any help or pointers are greatly appeciated.
