Alright, i tried "-af resample=96000:0:2" - the <type> parameter of the
resample audio filter taking the value of "2" took only 2% usage from the CPU
and it's: "slow, best quality" according to the mplayer man page
Then i noticed with "-af resample=96000:0:0" (0 = "fast, poor quality
especially when upsampling" according to the man page) the cpu usage dropped
to even less - 1% constantly.
So i guess there's nothing more i can do since mplayer uses already the best
algorith by default plus man page confirms:"-af-adv force=1 - Optimize for
accuracy (default)". The only confusion all the time was that the best mplayer
algorithm uses as little cpu as mpd with the worst speexrate algorithm set in
"defaults.pcm.rate_converter".
See ya,
Dave
