No sound from internal speakers on HP Touchsmart 600-1130de (alc888)

It's a pretty common problem with touchsmarts, I guess that sound works
from the other outputs (it works for other people), but didn't even
bother to test, I'm not interested in them, I just want the internal
speakers to work.

There is an additional usb audio attached. It works perfectly, and
detaching it makes no difference.

Being forced to plug cables to an all-in-one system is incredibly
frustrating. WAF goes from 11 to almost 0.
