Hi

I try to connect denon dJ mixer x-1700, which has midi and 8 (4 Stereo) I/O
through usb. I'm runnung ubuntu studio 12.04 on a fanless asus X101CH
netbook. Midi is working fine but audio not. I read the last days a lot
about audio for linux and see that firstly it has to run under alsa. Here
are a few findings so far:

ubuntu-studio@ubuntu-studio:~$ aplay -l

This plays sound locally, ok:

ubuntu-studio@ubuntu-studio:~$ aplay /home/ubuntu-studio/Desktop/a.wav

This still plays sound locally, nok:

ubuntu-studio@ubuntu-studio:~$ aplay -D surround40
/home/ubuntu-studio/Desktop/a.wav

I'm a lost, what can I try next?

Any help is apreciated.

Thanks, amajfuso
