First time user here so please bear with me if I post incomplete information.
kernel = 3.2.0-27-generic
Processor = Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
video = gt430
mythbuntu = .25 latest fixes
alsa = 1.0.25
nvidia driver = 295.40
What works over hdmi.
mythtv, everything.
vlc, no problem.
Here is what partially works.
xbmc. any movie that is encoded in 5.1 or above. stereo, no sound, mp3, no sound
Never works. firefox, chrome, any flash videos, no sound.
All the above things that do work, work if I set them up to use card 1, device 7.
this is my asound.conf.
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
device 7
}
Any varaition of speaker-test produces no sound.
example= speaker-test -Dhw:1,7 -c6 -r192000
no sound.
Can anyone please explain to my why I cannot get hdmi sound to work over flash, speaker-test, or internet?
