it doesn't seem to be a problem of the Desktop. I think it depends on if the card is hotplugged or not. I've made the experience, that the card plays sound, when It's plugged in before booting. After booting it doesn't seem to work. Maybee it has something to do with the hardware (it's a vaio, sony).
I can't also playback via qjackctl. The devices I can choose from are only:
hw1
hw0
plughw:0
/dev/audio
(voreinst.)
/dev/dsv
How can I reach the card via jack?
