Apologies, I had returned that Bifrost and been using another device based on the XMOS chip (Worked perfectly). I now have a new Bifrost and I'm running Fedora 17 with ALSA 1.0.25

Here is the output requested of me a while back: https://gist.github.com/2897496

I just got a Schiit Bifrost in the mail (http://schiit.com/schiit-faq/about-bifrost). I want to use it via USB.

The Schiit Bifrost uses a C-Media 6631, I can see it when I do an lsusb:

agd@minerva:~$ lsusb
Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Here is a gist of an lsusb -v: https://gist.github.com/1335351

I can also see the device in alsamixer when I hit f6 and try to select it, its shows up as 1, right after my intel onboard.

When I select it in alsamixer I get an error: cannot load mixer controls: Invalid argument

I'm using this with ubuntu 10.04:

agd@minerva:~$ cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21.

agd@minerva:~$ uname -r
2.6.32-34-generic-pae

Any help would be appreciated!
