clemens,

thanks for your reply.

in one application i can only choose driver/device. the choices for
speaker and mic are:

ALSA:default
ALSA:plughw:0,0
ALSA:other device

if i choose the last option, i can write the name of that other device.

both speaker and mic work fine if i choose ALSA:default. speaker works
fine if i choose ALSA:plughw:0,0, but mic does not work with that
setting.

what i would like to achieve is that i can use some other device than
default for mic, but i don't know what to write there that would work.

since ALSA:default for mic works, how can i find out what device that
stands for so that i can write it as name of ALSA:other device?

arecord -l/L give this:

arecord -l

Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)
