The driver does not know about this sound card model.
In this case, it tries to configure the card with some default settings,
which might work, or not.

Strange.  It should at least fail consistently ...

Ewww, a VT1617A.  This card is likely to have _worse_ sound quality than
your onboard device.  What do you need it for?
