No sound from EasyCap DC60 video grabber

Dear All

The EasyCap Dc60 is based on Syntek Semiconductor USB 2.0 Video Capture Controller. As can be seen from the attached alsa-info.text the device is correctly identified both on boot and when hot-plugged. The drivers are automatically installed from the kernel staging drivers. The video streaming is perfect and can be viewed/saved by a number of apps including vlc, tvtime, mplayer etc..

The alsamixer, kmix and pavucontrol all give mixer controls for this device but there does not seem to be a data stream. Also, this is a stereo device although the control list shows mono.

How to debug this and find a solution for working alsa sound channels.
