I had to do some jiggery/pokery to get it to work on 10.04 but on 11.10 standard install it worked out of the box using ICE1712. I just use it for playing music thru the analog outputs. I have an Arcam A90 and B&W Nautilus speakers. Playing FLACs thru Banshee, the sound out of this card is significantly 'better' than 3 other mainstream cards that I tested with (I used PulseAudio to quickly switch outputs between multiple installed cards when testing). It must be sommat to do with the DACs I guess, but 'better' (humble apologies for using that word on the alsa mailing list) it definitely was to my ears. I use an 'el cheapola' mobo: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/ P5KPLVM/ Maybe bin the mobo but stick with that card if u can... Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a definitive record of customers, application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes sense of it. IT sense. And common sense. http://p.sf.net/sfu/splunk-novd2d _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list Alsa-user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
