This is a laptop so all the ports sit on top of an internal hub which has two main usb ports ..so its not possible to connect it directly..it has to go through the hub.
I was also wondering, if the problem is with the EHCI driver, why does the zoom g9 (also a usb 1 device) work properly in duplex mode? I was just looking at the dmesg output and cant see anything significantly different.
