Problem loading snd_hdsp with Digiface connected

Dear list,

I'm trying to get my HDSPe ExpressCard with my Digiface working under
ALSA. I've run alsa-info.sh and uploaded the result. You'll find it under
http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=75db76484caf4cc29e2b0e1539427c87f9ce2594

Here is what I tried:
- insert HDSPe card and connect Digiface
- power up

The system recognizes the HDSPe card:

hdsploader then says:
seneca:/home/mgd # hdsploader

Looking for HDSP + Multiface or Digiface cards :
Card 0 : HDA Intel at 0xefffc000 irq 29

Try to unload and reload the driver:
  rmmod snd_hdsp
  modprobe snd_hdsp

dmesg says:

The Digiface works fine under WXP with my old PCMCIA Card. Ages ago on an
older Notebook with a PCMCIA slot that same combo had worked with ALSA.
However I have not yet tried to get it working using the HDSPe ExpressCard.

Could it be that the ExpressCard is not supported by the driver ?
Would I need a different firmware that the one provided by ALSA firmware ?

What else could I do to get it working ?

Any help appreciated, best wishes,
Michael
