Would you be able to give me a bit more info on how to use the SPDIF input? I'm not having much luck. Here's what I tried:
$ cat /proc/asound/devices
2: : timer
3: : sequencer
4: [ 0- 4]: digital audio playback
5: [ 0- 3]: digital audio playback
6: [ 0- 2]: digital audio playback
7: [ 0- 1]: digital audio playback
8: [ 0- 0]: digital audio playback
9: [ 0- 0]: digital audio capture
10: [ 0] : control
11: [ 1- 0]: raw midi
12: [ 1] : control
$ arecord -D hw:0,0 -r44100 -d 10 test.wav
test.wav was blank.
What did you mean by "the mixer control muted"? Is it the gains you see in alsamixer? The mic gain was 0/100 which I set to 100/100 with no luck.
Thanks again.

to do capture with that mixer control muted, becuase muting the control
also turns off capture. See my post about a month ago for more
information about this issue. For some applications this bug may not
matter much, but it makes the X-Fi Titanium unusable for real-time audio
processing applications.
