HowTo determine samplerate card and driver supports

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

currently I am experimenting with different audio players in putting out
different bitrates an sample sizes of music directly to the soundcards I
have plugged in.

The results where mplayer resamples or the alsa library or both or none
are not predictable for me.

Is there a way to determine wich samplerate the card supports with its
driver and which not?

I enabled verbose procfs contents already and /proc/asound/cardX/codec#0
seems to deliver this for my onboard intel-hda but my other cards do not
have such files.

How do I determine hardware supported and accepted but resampled bit
rates from the driver's source file?

Kind Regards, Konsti
