Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been able to get SPDIF input working on this CM6206 chip? I have no way of checking but the SPDIF out appears to be working as it lights up, but despite various options in arecord I cant seem to get the digital input. I have set the output device to 48000 and 41000 and matched in a record but neither settings work. Alsamixer doesn't define a spdif capture device but gives several pcm options as below: root@ubuntu:~# aplay -L default:CARD=default USB Sound Device , USB Audio Default Audio Device front:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio Front speakers surround40:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio 4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers surround41:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio 4.1 Surround output to Front, Rear and Subwoofer speakers surround50:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio 5.0 Surround output to Front, Center and Rear speakers surround51:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio 5.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer speakers surround71:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio 7.1 Surround output to Front, Center, Side, Rear and Woofer speakers iec958:CARD=default,DEV=0 USB Sound Device , USB Audio IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output null root@ubuntu:~# amixer Simple mixer control 'PCM',0 Capabilities: cvolume cswitch cswitch-joined Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right Limits: Capture 0 - 6928 Front Left: Capture 6928 [100%] [11.06dB] [on] Front Right: Capture 6928 [100%] [11.06dB] [on] Simple mixer control 'PCM Capture Source',0 Capabilities: enum Items: 'Mic' 'Input 1' 'Input 2' 'Mixer' Item0: 'Mixer' Simple mixer control 'PCM',1 Capabilities: cvolume cswitch cswitch-joined Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right Limits: Capture 0 - 6928 Front Left: Capture 2165 [31%] [3.45dB] [on] Front Right: Capture 2165 [31%] [3.45dB] [on] Simple mixer control 'PCM',2 Capabilities: cswitch cswitch-joined Capture channels: Mono Mono: Capture [on] Simple mixer control 'Mic',0 Capabilities: pvolume cvolume pswitch pswitch-joined cswitch cswitch-joined Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right Capture channels: Front Left - Front Right Limits: Playback 0 - 8065 Capture 0 - 6928 Front Left: Playback 8065 [100%] [7.50dB] [on] Capture 6928 [100%] [11.06dB] [on] Front Right: Playback 8065 [100%] [7.50dB] [on] Capture 6928 [100%] [11.06dB] [on] Simple mixer control 'Speaker',0 Capabilities: pvolume pswitch pswitch-joined Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right Limits: Playback 0 - 8065 Mono: Front Left: Playback 2016 [25%] [1.87dB] [on] Front Right: Playback 2016 [25%] [1.87dB] [on] Simple mixer control 'Speaker',1 Capabilities: pvolume pswitch pswitch-joined Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right - Rear Left - Rear Right - Front Center - Woofer - Side Left - Side Right Limits: Playback 0 - 197 Mono: Front Left: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Front Right: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Rear Left: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Rear Right: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Front Center: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Woofer: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Side Left: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] Side Right: Playback 197 [100%] [0.00dB] [on] I also found when I upgraded to the latest Alsa version 1.0.23 my system couldn't boot with the card plugged in. Yet .22 runs o.k? Any help would be appreciated.
