Julien:  Nope.  PiTiVi was only application opening.  FWIW, I don't have sound 
on Firefox for youtube videos, nor sound with iceweasel (changed settings for 
DSP="none" to DSP="aoss".   I was hoping alsa offers a way to control alsa 
sinks, whatever that means.
