No idea. Does it do that in all programs?
Do
arecord -f cd >/tmp/rec&
aplay (some .wav file)
play it for a few sec
^C

killall arecord
aplay /tmp/rec
Can you hear the file you played inthat recorded file?

(unplug your speakers for the aplay part, and then plig them back in for hte
second aplay)
