volume bars hidden in alsamixer, but amixer works

Hello I have the problem that since recently all controls from my usb
mics have disappeared and all my capture for my sblive (emu10k1)
 has disappeared from alsamixer.

It shows Mic, but no "volumegraph", as below:

amixer still works.

alsamixer -c2:

I can control it with amixer, and all alsa programs work as they should
(they detect the usb mics with correct alsa names and my sblive capture
alsa inputs)

mio@mws:~% amixer -c2
Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Capabilities: cvolume cvolume-joined cswitch cswitch-joined penum
  Capture channels: Mono
  Limits: Capture 0 - 3
  Mono: Capture 2 [67%] [50.00dB] [on]

mio@mws:~% amixer -c2 set 'Mic' volume 100
Simple mixer control 'Mic',0
Capabilities: cvolume cvolume-joined cswitch cswitch-joined penum
  Capture channels: Mono
  Limits: Capture 0 - 3
  Mono: Capture 3 [100%] [60.00dB] [on]

I don't have an asoundrc file

I don't have a blacklist alsa in modprobe.dk/blacklist either :-)

Any idea what could be wrong?
