we need to tell alsa that the FTU is connected to the USB cable as 
indicated in the patch.
we're lucky that we do not need to compile the kernel,
I repeat, I had many problems for this.

now you've installed alsa-driver on your daw-box,
and,  when the FTU is connected to the USB port,
the installed alsa-driver's version does not know how it work,
missing the patch, so ...

this is my way,
and for now, I successfully use the 8 FTU's I-O at 48k.
