Hiccups with Intel-hda

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I've had some problems with my sound for a while now. The sound and mixers work fine most of the time. However every now and again the sound sounds like it reached a crack in a cd. Only for a few seconds but then it moves on (or crashes the application). I've tried googling some, but either it's a rare problem or else I need to train my google-fu. I ran a gdb backtrace on mplayer (as it was the first application to crash) and the output is here: www.pastebin.org/98106

I'm running all the latest and greatest alsa software (available via gentoos package manager):
alsa-lib-1.0.22.1
alsa-utils-1.0.22.1
alsa-headers-1.0.22

lspci output is: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)
the output of /proc/asound/card0/codec#* is: Codec: Realtek ALC861-VD
Codec: LSI ID 1040

I was hoping that perhaps you guys could help :-)

Thanks in advance
