Enabling Mic Boost with ALC880

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I have a Realtek ALC880 chipset on an Nvidia Nforce 420 based board.
All things I use work (almost) well except of one minor issue: the
microphone boost setting is not available in the mixer, and boosting
apparently does not work.

I found different recommendations (i.e. forcing a special mode via
model=... parameter of snd-hda-indel) but nothing did work. I also found
simple patches which fixed the hardware presets for the particular
models, but they are all in regular kernel sources now, and even when I
change the model= that includes the boost control (according to
patch_realtek.c) then it still does not work.

Kernel:
Dec 11 22:53:59 zenit kernel: [ 8417.267280] hda_codec: ALC880: BIOS auto-probing.

PCI:
00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2)
00:10.1 0403: 10de:026c (rev a2)

Any ideas?

Regards,
Eduard.
