envy24control peaks error

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hi all,

on my new machine, when i run the 10.0.21 envy24control, even as root,
i get a continuous stream of "Unable to read peaks: No such file or
directory" and no sound. i straced it, saved profiles.conf files where
there were some ENOENTS, and got the same error; i compiled the tool
from source and got the same error. as far as i can tell it is trying
to read from a unix socket, but i don't know what is meant to be on
the other end. see below for transcript and please let me know if i
should provide more technical details to help illuminate the problem
here.

i only see one other mailing list post about this behavior, back in
2002, when jaroslav told someone to recompile from CVS. hopefully
there will be some newer advice available now. :)

many thanks,
aaron.
