Skype: play music while talking so that both parties can hear music and speech - using a-loop OR?

hda-intel ICH8. Did a fresh linux install on laptop after trying jack,
pulse, oss etc. etc.

Objective: using only alsa plugins create an .asoundrc that allows
having a skype conversation while playing a music track with mplayer
CLI merged into the stream that both parties can hear during skype
conversation.

Tried many things for a week now with no luck yet. Could I get some
help from an alsa-guru?

Would it be good to play the mplayer music track to the hw0,1 digital
or hw0,0 analog and have that merged/bind or a-loop'd into the C-Media
USB Headphone which is what's used during the skype conversation. I
though that binding/merging would stop the stuttering etc.

So, start mplayer (cli) and have the music sent to card 0, (the
laptop's internal soundcard) and then a-loop? that into hw1,0 the
headset via a very brilliant .asoundrc :-) Help really needed. I'm
very stuck. The biggest problem seems to be how to get the music track
looped/mixed/snoop'd into the microphone channel so that it's actually
heard during the conversation.

I think I understand that the cmedia microphone is mono though maybe
it's possible to have the music stay stereo and get both left and
right tracks panned into mono so nothing is actualy lost.

Thank you very much for reading this.
