Hi I am running into some alsa/audio problem while using skype the error I am getting is: ./skype: relocation error: ./skype: symbol snd_device_name_hint, version ALSA_0.9 not defined in file libasound.so.2 with link time reference The version I installed and I am trying to use is skype_static-2.1.0.47 I am running knoppix but I use a local skype install only when I need it. The version of Linux/Debian/knoppix I am using is: knoppix@Knoppix:~$ dmesg | grep Knoppix Linux version 2.6.19 (root@Knoppix) (gcc version 4.1.2 20061028 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-19)) #7 SMP PREEMPT Sun Dec 17 22:01:07 CET 2006 and my audio device is: knoppix@Knoppix:~$ lspci -v | grep audio 00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Sound Controller (rev a0) How can I fix this problem?
