Hi, I bought a new Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 and installed Debian 5.0.3/Lenny. Everything works fine except the sound. Ironically, even the webcam works. I ran the alsa-info.sh script. So, the most important information should be available at: http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=023a8fe4391244a2d305203f4c6f00493924c625 I tried a self-compiled 2.6.31 kernel and the 2.6.30 kernel from backports.org. They provide a basic beeping noise but they don't provide proper sound, either. This and some googling taught me, it could be my quite old Alsa 1.0.16 from Debian/stable? Any advice how I might get sound will be very much appreciated. Although I'd like to stay on Debian/stable I think about upgrading to testing or sid. If a new Alsa version might solve my sound problem would you recommend me (I've never compiled Alsa before) to build Alsa from source?
