Ok, even though **this list is completely useless*** because nobody cares, I will post my solution: System: Mandriva 2009.1 x64 using KDE4 HP's HDX16T laptop is not perfectly configured by Mandriva. In fact, the problem is the version of alsa-dirvers and alsa-lib. All you have to do is install the alsa-driver-1.0.20. I ran it with the following options:--with-debug=full --with-oss=yes --with-pcm-oss-plugins=yes --with-cards=all --with-card-options=all
Afterwards I rebooted (optional)Then I installed alsa-lib-1.0.20 package, with the default options, rebooted, and sound worked.
Be sure to play around with alsamixer or kmix to ensure sound output. Hope this helps someone. Balpo Balpo wrote:
My laptop is an HP HDX16t. I've tried the model=hp-hdx option, but had no success. (I also tried model=auto, model=hp and no model option) Someone in the list suggested me to update the alsa drivers, but as I did my X server went crazy and had no X at all. Is there a way to set up hp-hdx without installing the new drivers? If the answer is no, how can I install the new drivers without ruining the X server?I attach the results of alsa-info.sh.
