Hello,
Im rather new to linux ubuntu, and for the last few weeks have been using intrepid. I recently upped it to jaunty, and at first its been ok, I don't really know what is meant to be different about it to be honest. Yesterday I realised that the gismo above the keyboard that you slide your finger on, to ajust volume and mute no longer works, and I had to use the mouse to go to the icon on the screen to ajust it. Then today, I realised that the headfones do not work anymore. I unplug them and there is nothing wrong with the volume at all.
The machine is a hp dv 5 1118es. The drivers I've got set to alsa advanced linux sound archictecture. - Worked o.k. before. Could you give me some advice pls? I read on the ubuntu forum that you guys are the best to help. Thanks.
