I used this command: fuser -v /dev/snd/* An I got: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: val 31395 F.... mixer_applet2 How can I check if pulseaudio is running at all? I have no use for pulseaudio (I use ALSA's dmix instead), so if there is a way for me to turn it off completely, I would like to do that to eliminate it as a potential source of problems.
