Need help with setting up my sound card

Hello -

I am somewhat new to this group, so apologies if this has been asked
already. I did a cursory search of the archives and did not find any
help....

I have a Creative Labs Audigy 4 Pro soundcard. I run the openSuSE distro
and recently upgraded my system from SuSE 10.3 to SuSE11.1 but I stayed
with the KDE3.5 desktop. The sound card was working fine under 10.3 but
has failed to work under either SuSE11.0 or SuSE11.1. For other reasons,
I do not wish to regress back to the 10.3 version. I have spent quite a
bit of time trying to track down what might be the problem but so far no
joy... So I need help from some kind guru....

I followed (as best as I could) the troubleshooting procedures that is
found on the openSuSE wiki website for sound issues and I am attaching
below what results I have from those steps.
(http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AudioTroubleshooting) I got as far as step 5
before getting too confused to proceed. Here is what I so far have, hope
this is useful -

marc@nova:/> cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.17.

uploading /tmp/tsalsa.txt to nopaste.com

Exploring the ALSA website I also came across something else that is
confusing me... On the matrix page at
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Creative_Labs
it describes the driver for my sound card as emu10k2 CA0151/P16V, but
the details link points at the driver named emu10k1 and that is the name
of the driver that SuSE installed for me by default. Is the emu10k2 and
upgrade? a different driver? and if so should I be using it instead of
the emu10K1 driver? If so, how do I acquire it, I find lots of
references to it, but no download links....

Thanks in advance for any and all help offered! Marc....
