FW: Surround Sound issues

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

All,

I have moved to 10.018a, and this issue still persists.   I cannot get all 6 channels working, and in fact the right and left seems to come out of the rear.

It’s just completely inconsistent.

Can anyone lend a hand, or some form of troubleshooting ideas?

Thank you,

Jason

Subject: Surround Sound issues

All,

I’m using a Roland UA-1EX (http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=743) and using the optical out.

I’m having some very basic surround sound issues, I believe.

Doing a simple speaker-test –c 6 I see the following output:

speaker-test 1.0.18rc3

Playback device is default

Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 6 channels

Using 16 octaves of pink noise

Rate set to 48000Hz (requested 48000Hz)

Buffer size range from 2229 to 17832

Period size range from 1114 to 1115

Using max buffer size 17832

Periods = 4

was set period_size = 1114

was set buffer_size = 17832

 0 - Front Left

 4 – Center

 1 - Front Right

 3 - Rear Right

 2 - Rear Left

 5 – LFE

I am only having output on Front Left and Front Right.

I am uncertain how to accomplish any further testing or determine what is wrong.

Can anyone lend a hand?

Thanks,

Jason
