Audio on ECS A780GM-A motherboard

Dear list,

I have bought this motherboard some months ago, which has an
integrated audio chipset. I am using the snd-intel-hda since the
beginning and the main output is correctly working.
Unfortunately, it is not the case of the mic and line in inputs. (I
did not try the three others outputs). I have a lot of noise/echo in
the line in, and nothing at all in the mic input.

- According to the command "cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0", the chip
is a "SigmaTel ID 7645". (card 0 being the HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB
sound card)
- But according to the ECS website
(http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=866&CategoryID=1&DetailName=Specification&MenuID=1&LanID=9),
the chip is an IDT 92HD206 8-channel, which is compatible with
STAC927x (http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2008-April/007585.html)

Therefore
1/ Is it possible that the chip is incorrectly detected?
2/ Is there is a way to force the use of the STAC927x drivers. I mean
something like that:
options snd-hda-intel model=STAC9227/9228/9229/927x:ref
Or is it necessary to patch the source and compile again?

Thanks,
Laurent
