Thanks to everybody for the replies

I've got alsa-firmware and try to execute your instructions.
Here's what happened :

domp:/home/dom/Paramètres# cd alsa-firmware-1.0.17
domp:/home/dom/Paramètres/alsa-firmware-1.0.17# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... no
checking for mawk... mawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
domp:/home/dom/Paramètres/alsa-firmware-1.0.17#

I've attached `config.log' for more details.

The first thing I see is that I'm not so clever I thinked !
I try to cure myself but not so easy everyday ;-)

Perhaps I need to install some package before it could work ...
(I use Synaptic as often I can)

Thanks in advance. Have a good day.

Dom.

This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.60. Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure
