No, that seems to have fixed it. Sadly however, I still can't get this
card to record properly. There's always a background whine, no matter
how I tinker with the mixer settings, and unless I disable the 'line'
control there's a terrible whine on the earphones too. The card works
fine under FreeBSD 7 though...

Anyway, many thanks for the fix.
