Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to diagnose sound issues on my newer HP laptop (a
Canadian series pavillion tx2524ca).
Sounds works with the snd_hda_intel driver, using the realtek chipset,
but only under certain conditions. Mic input does not work at all at
this point
Description of functionality
Sound output only works with model=toshiba or model=acer.
The front of the laptop has two headphone jacks, an SPDIF optical, and
a microphone. The headphone sense works with the middle jack, but only
using model=toshiba
The laptop also has a built in mic (identified as "Front Mic"). This
doesn't work at all
The mic jack (identified as "Mic", physically located beside speaker
and SPDIF at the front of the laptop) works for passthrough (if I turn
up the output volume I can hear the sounds from the mic), but not for
recording/input.
I'm hoping that some of the info provided below might provide enough
info the debug this situation, but if more info is needed please let
me know.

The kernel is currently 2.6.26.5
