Yes, through the "index=" device parameters. Assuming you have / ubuntu 
has the drivers build modular, add things such as:

options snd-hda-intel index=0,1
options snd-ice1724 index=2
options snd-ice1712 index=3

to whichever file under /etc/modprobe.d is intended for ALSA settings on 
your distribution.
