I have tried making the HDMI sound work on a Aliza sound chipset and ATI card ( ATI X1200 with the MAY release of ATI and RealTek ).
When I try to make the sound work on my HDMI out with speaker-test, I dont get any errors, just no sound ..... I never tried on an Nvidia board that why I suggested to try to post on NVidia forums, but since the HDMI sound needs to work with the Video Card AND the sound card, if the drivers from NVIDIA a not good, no sound.
I also read on a few posts in different forums that the HDMI sound works on the HD series of cards from ATI but I had no experiences with these cards.
Good Luck ! and if you get the sounds working, be sure to post your progress.
Phil.
