Hello

I am just trying to install ALSA audio drivers and I get the following error
when trying to launch amixer

ALSA lib control.c:910:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory

My kernel : Home build 2.6.20 based on a debian.
Alsa : trying to install 1.0.16

The sound chip ???
Well, the doc of the boards tells it a realtek alc203.

when I make a lspci, I find: Multimedia audio controller: Advanced Micro
Devices [AMD] CS5536 [Geode companion] Audio (rev 01)

when I make a alsaconf, it detects a CS5536

After the boot, I have no sound module.
I make a modprobe snd-cs5535audio -> it is ok.

I can now launch the tool play and I have no error. But I have no sound on
the speakers

So I try to launch amixer or alsamixer but I always get the error "ALSA lib
control.c:910:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default"

If I do a modprobe snd-mixer-oss, I see in /proc/asound/oss/sndstat that it
adds the line:
	Mixers:
	0: Realtek ALC203 rev 0

So I don't really know which chip is on my target, and I don't know which
driver I should use...

Any idea ?

The board is an ETX for Kontron.

Thanks

CHris
